 Program Director
Floyd Roberts, Jr., MD, FACP, FCCP, is a pulmonary specialist and serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Baton Rouge General. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans before attending University of Alabama, where he completed his internship, residency and fellowship. Dr. Roberts is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, with a specialty of Pulmonary Disease. He holds the appointment of Dean of Tulane University School of Medicine's Baton Rouge Campus.
 Associate Program Director
Venkat Banda, MD, FACP,
serves as Medical Director for Hospital Medicine Group. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Banda is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He holds the appointments of Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine for Tulane University School of Medicine, Medical Director of Hospital Medicine Group, and Chief of Medicine at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.
 Paula Rhode Brantley, PhD, Director of Curriculum & Scholarly Activity, received her doctoral degree from Louisiana State University prior to completing her residency in Behavioral Medicine at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. From there she entered academic medicine, serving as core faculty in Preventive Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, in Health & Human Performance at the University of Houston, and with the Tulane-EJGH Family Medicine Residency Program in New Orleans. Dr. Brantley joined our faculty in 2012, and her interests include professional and ethical development of residents and students, teaching and supervisory skills, evidence-based medicine, research design and methodology, and objective assessment and evaluation.

David A. Depp, MD, completed his General Surgery residency and internship at the University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals, where he also completed a fellowship and research in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. Dr. Depp is Board Certified in Thoracic and Cardio Vascular Surgery and General Surgery. Dr. Depp is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons, American Board of Surgery, American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
 Robert Kenney, MD began his post as Core Medical Faculty for the Tulane/BRG Internal Medicine Program in April 2011. His focus includes the education of Tulane/Baton Rouge General Internal Medicine residents as well as medical students, and additionally, he serves Medical Director of Quality, supporting all other hospital programs. Recently retired from his 26-year private practice at Renal Associates of Baton Rouge, Dr. Kenney brings a breadth of expertise to our team, as a clinician and educator.
 Charles Mason, MD, attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, before completing his residency in internal medicine at University Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society, Amercian College of Physicians, the American Geriatrics Society, the Louisiana Geriatrics Society and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
 Melanie McKnight, received a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, La., before earning her Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, LA. She then completed her residency at University Hospital in Jacksonville, Fl.
 
S. Raju Vatsavai, MD, completed his Internal Medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed a clinical research fellowship in the department of Cardiology at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Raju is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

 

Vasudev Tati, MD, completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Tati is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
 Angela Wood, MD, received a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Tulane University in New Orleans, La., before earning her Doctor of Medicine from the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten. She then completed her residency at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. Dr. Kovach is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians, the West Virginia State Medical Association and Monongalia County Medical Society.
